Activities and Services
Each resident chooses how to spend each day, rising and retiring when they wish. Visitors are encouraged at any time, day or night.
Food and beverages are available at all times and set meal times staggered to suit everyone. A full cooked breakfast is available every day. The menus are varied and always have choice.
Help with hygiene and personal requirements is available 24 hours a day with the emphasis on privacy and dignity.
Communal rooms are available with the focus on comfort including a TV room, a music room, a quiet room and a sensory / reminiscence room and residents choose where they want to sit. Residents may stay in their own rooms if they wish.
Activity co-ordinators oversee a wide range of activities in the morning and afternoon which include one-to-one chats, group work e.g.reading newspapers, softball, exercises, bingo, shopping, hairdresser visits and going out for walks. A free lunch club is also available with visits to local restaurants and cafes. Regular entertainment such as singers and musicians may also be enjoyed.
Elaina Nursing Home organises annual holidays on which residents are encouraged to come and enjoy themselves. Destinations include Ayr, Blackpool and the Lake District.
